AT HOME IN SANTA FE
1 Bedroom, 1 Bath Casita/Guest House, Sleeps 4
Santa Fe New Mexico NM pet friendly vacation rentals.
The feeling as you enter the property is one of space. Many of the more charming guest house locations on Santa Fe's prestigious east side suffer from limited parking and a view only of a neighbor's window. Not so at 509 East Coronado Road! Here is tree-lined privacy close to the Historic Plaza with shopping and dining, PLUS expansive vistas of the legendary Sangre de Cristo mountains.
There are several reasons that this walled and gated acre is included in Santa Fe's core historic district: The 500 block of Coronado Road spills into the Old Pecos Trail on the west and into the Old Santa Fe Trail on the east. Those trails merge at the northwest corner of the block and cross eight ancient streets on their way to the plaza, established by the Spanish in 1607. Before that, the Old Pecos Trail was a trade route connecting the then flourishing Pecos Pueblo, 20 miles to the east with Analco Pueblo which occupied Downtown Santa Fe 700 years ago. Walk around the block; let yourself hear the dim distant clank of conquistador armor, the soft pad of Indian moccasins, and the joyous shouts of Yankee traders approaching civilization. Stroll down the trail to the Plaza through a thousand years of culture and history. Take your morning coffee in the sunbathed front courtyard. Enjoy afternoon margaritas in the mountain facing courtyard and warm yourself on chilly evenings in front of the Kiva fireplace.
