They allow dogs in a small outdoor seating area on the sidewalk. We were there when it was really really warm. The waitress gave me a big bowl of iced water. Very nice. I was enjoying myself until the "El" came by. You know, Chicago El trains. I am a suburb dog, I had never heard anything quite like that. I was scared. But after 3-4 trains went by, I got used to it. (I would have given it 3 bones without the El.) The food was excellent, especially their cinnamon rolls. There are several Ann Sather in Chicago area but I have been to only this one on Southport.

Have not been here, but Tom Tunney, the alderman and owner, said in today's paper that dogs aren't allowed at his restaurants! This location might be an exception.

Tunney's anti-dog ordinace got repealed in late 2007. Restaurants may now get dog permits; generally, as long as the dogs don't have to go through an indoor area, sidewalk cafe operators are free to allow dogs. I don't know if Ann Sathers still does, though.

I heard many good things about this restaurant but I haven't really checked it out. It is supposed to have really good French food for humans. And according to Doggone Chicago book, this place offers a doggie menu. Mom walked by it the other day and saw that their sidewalk cafe is very small. It might be too small for a big dog like me.

This Restaurant is wonderfull! I have eaten there, but never taken my dog there. I may give them a call and see if you need a reservation. The food is great, it is a must try and if you can bring your pooch, then you will have great food and great company.

We have taken our dogs to the sidewalk dining section of Brasserie Jo many times and it is always wonderful for both humans and dogs. First class French/Alsatian bistro food and extremely pet friendly - they bring the dogs small plates of steak tartare and bowls of water. Not a cheap dinner but well worth it - the cuisine is top notch, the service terrific and they love dogs. What could be better?

We dined here last fall and would not return. The outdoor seating is so crapped that I could not even pull the chair back to sit down. The dog was not allowed in the patio area and had to be stay the sidewalk. This was not what I was expecting especially since this was not mentioned when I made the reservation.

Cody's is not a restaurant, but you can have food delivered. It's a nice little pub with smoking allowed only in the back room. Every time I have visited Cody's it was a great experience for people and dogs to socialize.

Along with my Dad and Mom, I first visited Cooper's A Neighborhood Eatery in July and we have become regular guests ever since. The wooden deck/patio on the east side of this cozy restaurant is a perfect place to relax outdoors while the humans dine al fresco on tempting items from Cooper's superb menu of comfort foods and specialty beers (in fact, my Dad says the Cooper's offers one of the best beer menus of any restaurant in Chicago!). The servers always smile when I wag my tail and they offer me a bowl of fresh water and an occasional treat. I can't wait until our next visit!

Cullen's is very close to Wrigley Field, and offers an Irish-American menu. We love going there after Cubs games. During the summer and fall, dogs are welcome to sit in the outdoor cafe with their parents. The restaurant always has dog biscuits and water for their neighborhood furry friends as well as restaurant guests. For pet owners, the food portions are huge! I recommend their burgers and chicken sandwiches. They also have gooey desserts. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Dogs are only allowed on the sidewalk, so it is good when the weather is good and the outdoor tables are out. We tried to take our dog inside once and were told it was not allowed. He is large, so small dogs might be ok- not sure.

In 2007 Chicago passed an ordinance prohibiting dogs in sidewalk cafes; they promptly repealed it. In August 2007, when one of the preceding reviews was written, the ordinance was still in effect, which explains the review above. Now, in 2008, Four Farthings now allows dogs on both the north and east sidewalks, as long as they're well-behaved.

Four Treys is Roscoe Village's hidden gem ! It's got that old time neighborhood atmosphere. They have menus for all the local restaurants for fast food delivery. It's dog friendly water dish cookies, where else can you go with fido, order your favorite food and wash it down with one of their daily $2.00 special beers. They also have quite a variety of board games, as well as darts, pool table, 2007 Golf Game. We will be making that our destination stop from now on.

Best of the northside bars for people bringing in their four legged families. The bartenders are great, there's always treats for our dogs, and you can order food from any of the surrounding restaurants. So it's a win win situation Fido gets a walk , cookie & water and i get a cold beer, food ordered from whereever i want and get to hang in a bar that lets you feel like home.

I go once a week to enjoy breakfast with my mom on the patio. I always have access to a clean bowl of water, and if I am good, the friendly owner brings me treats! Mom loves the salads and sandwiches and says they are reasonably priced. I also get to people watch and say hi to the many dogs that walk by. Try it out if you are in the neighborhood!

This Viennese coffee house has two outdoor seating areas on the sidewalk. Dogs should sit on the other side of the iron fence. However, the day we were there, nobody else was sitting outside, so the staff let me and my doggie friend sit with our humans. Their pastries, desserts (including the best MOHR IM HEMD or hot molten chocolate cake that I didn't get to try), coffee, tea, and hot chocolate were excellent. I tried a buttery flaky croissant though which was scrumptious! They are open 7 days a week.

Extremely pet friendly and excellent pub food. We take Mitzi there at least twice a week. There are only 4 outside tables where we can bring her, the outdoor patio is off limits to dogs. They have great hamburgers (Wednesday is Cheap Hamburger Night) and the Jury Melt is the best ever. Great wine list at reasonable prices and lots of beers to choose from. Staff enjoys the dogs being there.

The manager says the restaurant is in the process of applying for a sidewalk cafe dog permit, which the city introduced just this year. Despite their huge patio, right now they only allow dogs on the north and east corners--usually just four tables out of 20 or 30. The staff love dogs, though, and they're welcome as long as they're well-behaved.

Rockwell's has patio seating from April through November. They have water and treats for all four legged guests out there. It is a very dog-friendly place, they really enjoy interacting with them. Besides that, the food is FABULOUS and nice portions for the price. Lots of items have a cajun/tex-mex flair, but many staples as well. Try the burger that was named one of the best in the city by the Chicago Tribune and order cheddar fries. None of that cheese sauce here!! I also love the blackened fish tacos and chopped chicken salad (think the "big salad" on Seinfeld!!!) We always have their homemade Reese's brownie with ice cream. YUM!

This is the only non-smoking restaurant and bar in Wrigleyville, I think. They also have live music in the late evening. It's expensive to eat here, but worth the price! The place is so clean, you could eat off the floor. I have never seen pets here personally, but I could see them being treated well--the staff is top-notch, and have been gracious whether we were ordering desserts, coffee, soups, or an entire meal.

There're only a few tables in this restaurant's small sidewalk seating area. I went there with 6 humans and 1 other doggie. I had to stay under the table so I wouldn't be in the waitress' way. (She sure appreciated it, she brought me a big bowl of cold water.) Mom and her friends loved the crepes - both sweet and savories. Their omelet was good and the fresh squeezed OJ was wonderful too.

Dogs allowed on patio. Seat yourself, which is nice. We went at 4pm not so crowded. Must be popular with dog owners because by the time we left two other dogs showed up. Seems a little cramped for big dogs. Not a lot of space unless they want to hangout under the table. Got a bowl of water brought over without asking! People food was good! More than just your regular Irish pub fare. Good veggie wrap and pear salad.

We literally sneaked in on a hot and busy Friday afternoon, but the waiter didn't miss we had a dog with us and first thing he did was to serve her own bowl of water. Food and drink choices were excellent and the best part for us humans was, we were allowed to take our time (!) even for a non-fancy-sandwich. By the time we left there were four more big and two smaller dogs and they just got along perfectly. We will definitely be going back there. If there were four or five bones to select, they would deserve even a higher rating. I don't understand why other places obviously don't want that business...
