Great food, BUT horrible service and the meal took 45 minutes to get to our table. The restaurant also does not separate checks which is annoying for groups. Have not tried it with my dog, but as most places, I am sure he would be welcomed on the patio.

Have to tie the dog up on the outside of the rail. Ordinance in the city prohibits tethering a dog in public, so you might get a warning or a ticket.

It was difficult finding places in Eastern, NC that were on or near the waterfront that would allow us to dine outside with our dog. Fortunately, we found the Beaufort Grocery Co. who welcomed us and Cooper with open arms (paws!). Excellent food, nice outdoor dining. It's not waterfront, but it's a great place. Go for lunch and/or breakfast if dinner is outside your budget. You'll love the food!

We held the family luncheon for my dad's 90th birthday here. They made a special menu and printed it up with mention that it was a birthday celebration. They were absolutely wonderful and since I was planning this long distance, it was a great relief to have not only the arrangements turn out so well. I am thrilled to know that they will allow dogs outside. Now we can go without worrying that the retrievers will try to retrieve the bear that sometimes frequents my dad's deck.

Dog Friendly Bar.
Sep 28, 2006
The Dog Bar is the most dog-friendly place we have ever been to. The entrance is double-gated for doggie safety, there are treats for the pups, drink specials for the humans, and the staff and patrons are all dog lovers. It is located in the hip and funky NoDa section of Charlotte - perfect for people watching with your pooch!

My wife and recently took a trip to Charlotte and were pleasantly impressed with the Dog Bar Noda, it was refreshing to go out on the town and not have to worry about putting our dogs in a kennel while we went out. The staff there is friendly as well as the people who were there. I just wish there were more places like this. If ever you are in Charlotte this is a must place to go with your pet.

Be careful though! Dogs rule completely. From Wiermaraners peeing on your leg to the owners' Yorkie standing on the middle of your table. Also, as the night wears on the smell of urine gets VERY strong.

This is a special place. You have to like, no, love dogs to really enjoy the Dog Bar. Talk about going where everyone knows your name, how about where everyone knows your dog's name. The dogs are the members and the owners are their guest. The Dogs here have the entire facility open to them, no leashes required. People are friendly, owners even more friendly. Nothing bad to say. If you want to enjoy a cocktail with your best friend, this is the place to go!

Great place to hang out with your dog, lots of people and a great patio with plenty of other dogs. Great selection of wines and beers, also some delectable snacks. We've been going for years with our animals. It's located in the center of the University Place and shops, so you can also enjoy a nice walk around the lake while your there. Pretty much a Charlotte land mark.

Allows dogs on the back patio and front patio of the restaurant. Staff has always been really friendly and unlocked the entrance to the back patio for us when we arrive with our dog (so we don't have to walk through the restaurant). Good food, good beer, as well as table tennis and a bar on the back patio. Highly recommended!

Some of the best fresh baked bread I've had in the U.S. (and I lived in Germany for 3 years where there's good bread!). Bread, pizzas, scones all made fresh in a wood-fired oven. Outdoor deck is huge and dog-friendly. Great coffee too! Go for a hike in the nearby Carl Sandberg National Park (also dog-friendly) then stop at the bakery for a treat for both you and your hound!

We went there in September 2007 and were seated on the outdoor deck at dusk. Enjoyed a beautiful sunset and fantastic food. The deck overlooks a cleared lawn and marsh. My dog enjoyed looking out over the lawn then settled down for a nap. Check before entering as you must walk the dog through the lobby to reach the deck seating.

We were pleased to find this very dog-friendly establishment in Historic old town New Bern on Craven Street. They have outdoor dining behind the restaurant (parking lot entrance, not street-side). Although not on the waterfront (parking lot view), the courtyard was well shaded and pleasant. Quality food, excellent service, reasonable prices, and not just dog-tolerant, but dog-friendly! We'll definitely continue to patronize this restaurant on our annual trips to NC.

Everyone brings a dog to Ocracoke Island and finding a place where you can both go is a challenge, but the Pelican has an outdoor bar and table area where you can actually eat with them. I stood outside wanting to make a to-go order for the ferry ride, and didn't want to upset anyone with my yorkie poo - but they invited me in and coo-ed at my dog in the process. The bar even has a sign that says "Dogs Welcome, Children must be leashed."

We enjoyed a delicious lunch at our outdoor patio table and they even brought Milo a nice fresh bowl of water with ice in it!

101 treats dogs like kings! They will bring out water, give treats and it’s really just an incredible vibe for animal lovers. They also host several events for dog groups (spca and other non-profits). They change their art out every month. Earlier this year, they set up a day for all the locals to bring their dogs in and paint the art for the month. The art looked fabulous, and all the money went to the SPCA! Now that is a great pet-friendly restaurant. The food is well done and it’s open all day 7am to midnight, serving breakfast, lunch and late night fare. Mostly sandwiches and salads, and all pretty healthy, nothing fried. They have a great selection of beers, wines and martinis as well. Real cool spot to hang out on the corner with your friends and dogs! It’s my new favorite and all around it is cool neighborhood spot stuck in the middle of downtown Raleigh.
